We have had a great year helping Oakland’s shelter animals and we thank you for your support. Download our 2012 Year in Review to learn about our accomplishments, future projects, and how to help.

Our new dryer!

We finally have industrial-strength dryers at OAS! These large capacity dryers make it so much faster and easier to get clean, warm bedding to all of our animals.

A grant from the ASPCA is making possible attendance at this year’s Animal Care Expo. ASPCA President Ed Sayres created an HSUS EXPO scholarship dedicated to Julie Morris, long-time Senior VP of Community Outreach for her work on behalf of animal sheltering and homeless animals. The goal of the scholarship fund is to provide scholarships to recipients who either have not attended HSUS EXPO in the past or would be unable financially to attend. Thank you, ASPCA!

FOAS has been helping with medical care for the many cats from a hoarding case (read even more here). This is one of the cats who received medical care at PETS Emergency in Berkeley.

There are many cats available for adoption — please spread the word!

Thank you!

We are so grateful for everyone’s support this past year. Please download (PDF) our 2011 Year in Review and learn more about the projects you’ve helped us accomplish, the animals we’ve helped, and other ways to support Oakland’s shelter animals. Thank you!

Scarlet sweetheart

This pomeranian girl came to OAS with a bad leg injury. FOAS funded her amputation and Scarlet is recovering well at the shelter.

Once she’s healed she’ll be ready for adoption! Let us know if you’re interested in meeting her.

A reason to smile

Sundance just got surgery to fix his injured lip.

He is all stitched up and on the mend!
